“A Few Good Men” helping A Few Thousand Families

 More than 600 guests joined the Class of 2015 Honorees on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Pacific Room at the Long Beach Arena which featured a red carpet arrival, champagne greet, live entertainment, elegant hors d’oeuvres, gourmet three-course meal and an array of fabulous silent auction items.

Thank you to the very generous supporters who helped to make this evening a huge success. Together, we raised more than $450,000 to provide comfort, care and support to thousands of families who have a seriously ill child receiving treatment at a nearby medical facility. Special thanks to the Don Temple Family Charitable Foundation.

Highlights of the night included welcoming our inaugural class of 2014 who were wearing their exclusive “A Few Good Men” alumni tie, hearing first-hand the emotional testimony from Karen Alkurd who stayed at the House while her daughter, Maryam, was being cared for at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach, and watching the 2015 Honorees transform on the runway for a show that was entertaining and memorable. Before the evening concluded, guests had a chance to bid on priceless selected experiences with each honoree to include Central Coast wine country getaway, Hawaiian escape, soaring the sky in the Goodyear Blimp, accommodations and golf in La Quinta at the Hideaway, Pebble Beach Concourse D ’Elegance, fun in the sun in Newport, Mexico all-inclusive vacation, VIP New England Patriots experience,  the chance to watch the 100th Indy 500, and an evening watching the Clippers take on the Houston Rockets in the Toyota Suite at the Staples Center! All of the Honorees donated and crafted their unique experiences with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the House.
