Through the generosity of their family and friends, almost $11,000 was donated to support the work of the Los Angeles House!
Elaine and Bob met online seven years ago. Bob lived in Thousand Oaks and Elaine lived in Los Angeles. As their relationship grew Elaine discovered that more than 60 years ago, Bob had lived two houses away from Elaine’s grandfather in Dorchester, Massachusetts. When they talked about getting married Elaine said to Bob, "Do we really need a new toaster or coffeepot as a wedding gift?" Elaine loves being philanthropic and they both agreed that helping children and their community is so much more rewarding than a new coffee pot. So they asked their wedding guests that in lieu of gifts, to support the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House. And through the generosity of their family and friends, almost $11,000 was donated to support the work of the Los Angeles House!
