October 27th, tensions were high as the OCRMH staff monitored the weather. Thunderstorms were predicted for the next day, the 4th Annual Trunk or Treat at the OC House. Would it get rained out?
The weather was perfect, a beautiful fall day. Rain had stayed north and our fun began about 3:30 when the cars started to arrive. There were 19 decorated trunks filled with candy and goodies as well as games, glow sticks and fun. Two guys grilling donated their services and gave away free hot dogs, lemonade and ice tea. Annie Banannie & a friend made wonderful balloon surprises for our guests.
Shout out to The Lions Club who not only had five trunks but also offered up home spun cotton candy and hot buttered popcorn.
Kids and Smiles offered up a game to play and a face painter adorned anyone who asked. There was Scooby Doo and Clifford the Dog roaming the scene as well as all the trunk or treaters dressed in their Halloween garb. The Ronald McDonald families and friends all had a great time and not a single drop of rain fell. Success!
