Here's to another successful Holiday Party for the families that stayed at OCRMH in 2017. It was a night of laughter and joy that was made possible by supporters in our local community.
It was nothing but smiles and laughter at this year’s Orange County Ronald McDonald House Family Holiday Party! The Family Holiday Party is a special event hosted for families that have stayed at the House within the year 2017. As an organization, we understand that the holiday season can be challenging when having a sick child. Medical expenses do not pause for the holidays, so many of the families staying at the House don’t have extra income for gifts and decorations. At OCRMH we do our very best to provide a stress-free holiday celebration for all of the families that have stayed at the House in 2017, by hosting a large party with a guest of honor: Santa Claus! This year’s party was hosted at the Great Wolf Lodge in Garden Grove. During the party, families were able to drink hot cocoa, enjoy sweet treats, make arts & crafts, balloon animals, see close up magic, meet movie/comic book characters, and go through a mini toy store at no cost! Thanks to an astonishing amount of community support, each child left the event with a bag full of toys and smiles on their faces.
The mini toy store is the main attraction at our event, yet it would not have been possible without support from our local outreach. Individuals, organizations, faith-based groups and corporations hosted toy drives on our behalf through November and December helping to fill the event with presents for each child to take home. The event would not have been a success without their help, and we feel so fortunate to have donations come from individuals and groups that look to give back to their own community.
Now we can look to a positive New Year and help provide more comfort, care and support to families in need.
