"Ronald McDonald House Orange County was far more than a place to stay”.  Brenda Contreras, Alumni Family.

The rain did not deter guests from coming to the Walk for Kids Kick off breakfast. The Villa in Orange was lovely, and spacious accommodating the seventy guests. The program opened with Ronald and Executive Director Noel welcoming all and explaining our mission of keeping families together during their time of need. Our founding couple Fran and Fred stole the show by giving all in attendance a brief history of the house its uniqueness. Breakfast was served, including coffee, juice, eggs, potatoes, pasties, bacon, and much more. Next our Ambassador family spoke- the mother of Scarlett a beautiful girl with a brightening spirit shared their experience staying at RMHOC. The mother revealed, “Ronald McDonald House Orange County was far more than a place to stay”. She shared how the staff was always very attentive always made sure Scarlett and the entire family had everything they needed.

We finished off our program with something new this year! We had a “speed dating” round where each table rotated to another table learning about categories such as social media, fundraising, meet our founders and registration. Each group spent 7 minutes going over the category of each table in detail. Our guests found this extremely useful, they learned how to navigate the Walk for Kids website, effectively fundraise and personally meet and converse with our founding family. Instead of sitting and listening to someone talk all morning, information was given in a more interactive manner.
The Walk for Kids Kick off Breakfast was a morning filled with amazing people, food and great information on our mission and Walk for Kids. Thank you for all those who came to the Walk for Kids Kick off Breakfast, your support is unwavering. If you missed the breakfast be sure to join us April 9th for the Walk for Kids at the Honda Center Anaheim. Learn more about this 5k Walk here: www.walkforkids.org/orangecounty
